THE PARTY

        She sits alone
        Night after night
        Thinking of him again

        She thinks of the times
        Walking side-by-side
        They held each others hand

        She thinks of the time
        They went to the dance
        Spinning round the room

        She thinks of the time
        Sitting on the beach
They saw their first full moon

        She comes to the time
        Just months ago
        When everything went wrong

        The party was over
        The fun had been had
Now it was time to be gone

        Down the road
        Not very far
He never saw the other car

        Crossed the line
        It came so fast
        She woke in the hospital
        They said he had passed

If only that had been all
        The doctor came in,
        she'd no longer walk

If only the driver hadn't been drunk
