I've watered the garden with the hose
Did the washing, about eight loads
Hung it out under the big blue sky
I hope it takes a while to dry
I've fed the kids, breakfast lunch and tea
Oops, again, I've forgotten about me!
I've tidied their mess
and fed the pets
washed about 500 dishes
Don't I wish I had three wishes
I've changed nappy after nappy*
I hope my kids are happy
They've played in the mud
up to my elbows in suds
That's tomorrow's washing
Nah, only joshing
I'll do it tonight when the moon and stars are bright
And upon their pillows rest their heads
safe and sound, tucked in their beds
I'm sorry - what did you say?
what, exactly was I to do today?
I picked them up when they fell
cuddled them till they were well
Held the baby when he cried
Read to the others while they tried
I mowed the grass
Picked up broken glass
Bathed the kids
Put jars with their lids
I vacuumed the floor
And lots, lots more
Please tell me again,
what was I to do today?????
