How Little It Costs

How little it costs if you give it a thought,
To make happy some heart each day,
Just one kind word or a tender smile,
As we go on our daily way.

Per chance a look will suffice to clear
The cloud from a neighbor's face,
And the press of a hand in sympathy,
      A sorrowful tear efface,

It costs so little I wonder why,
We give it so little thought,
      A smile, a kind word, a glance, a touch,
What magic with them is wrought.

      BECAUSE OF YOU

Because of you my heart is glad today,
And through my mind there runs a soft refrain
Of song, that echoes as I work or play,
Because I soon shall hear your voice again.
The sun is brighter than it was before
Because I know your love is ever true.
The sky is bluer through the open door,
And I am well content because of you.
Now, ever in my heart, there seems to be
An aim, an ardent wish, a constant prayer
That any place my duty beckons me,
      That you'll be ever faithful, near me there;
That through the mist of swiftly passing years,
      Your love will still remain so tried and true;
That I can wait and laugh at all my fears
and whisper, "I'm content," because of you.

      (Eunice Elmore Heizer)

      When we share laughter,
      There's twice the fun;
      When we share success,
      We've surpassed what we've done.
      When we share problems,
      There's half the pain;
      When we share tears,
      A rainbow follows rain.
      When we share dreams,
      They become more real;
      When we share secrets,
      It's our hearts we reveal.
      If we share a smile,
      That's when our love shows;
      If we share a hug,
      That's when our love grows.
      If we share with someone
      On whom we depend,
      That person is always
      Family or friend.
      And what draws us closer
      And makes us all care,
      Is not what we have,
But the things that we share
      When you share....you open...your heart

      Jill Wolf

Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed.
They make you smile, encourage you to succeed.
They lend an ear, they share praise,
They always open their hearts with grace.
Find a Friend, thats easy and nice,
Be a Friend and you've succeeded at life.

We learn to walk by walking, We learn to run through running,
We learn to give through giving. Give Your Gift.
There's something wonderful and beautiful in you.
Today it may be an encouraging word.
It may be holding someone who's having a difficult time.
As long as you keep giving, you'll find additional resources with which to give the gift.
But if you say no to that gift, it begins to shrivel.
You'll find that the more you give, the more you have to offer.

      Mary Manin Morrissey

Spring and summer are coming soon.
The sun is bright and warm too.
Clouds rolling through the sky so blue.
Rivers flowing as clear as blue.
As they are seen through your eyes, deep blue.
      You could be riding horses
      Or walking by the beach.
      Dancing with the setting sun
      And shining in the mist.
Could sail away on a silver night.
Leaving your history and past behind.
Just watching the stars and counting fire flies
As you twinkle with the stars at night.
You wake up and the sun is up.
As you smile, you brighten the world.
Your laughter echos through the woods
And your soul glows as deep as the sea deep blue.

Close my eyes, I see you
Think of a time, I will meet you
      In my arms, holding you
Dream of a life, with you
Whispering in your ear, I love you
In my kiss, I feel you
      Holding hands, I cherish you
Talking of how, I met you
In my eyes, tears of you
Can you feel, the love of you
In my heart, I miss you
In each hope, I dream you
      In reality, where are you
      In life, I adore you
In quiet times, I hear you
      When we meet, forever you

After a while you learn the difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul.
You learn that love isn't leaning but lending support.
You begin to accept your defeats with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child.
You decide to build your roads on today, for tomorrow's ground is too uncertain.
You help someone plant a garden instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
You learn that God has given you the strength to endure and that you really do have worth.

      A WORLD OF DREAMS

Lean against a tree and dream your world of dreams
Work hard at what you like to do and try to overcome all obstacles
Laugh at your mistakes and praise yourself for learning from them
Pick some flowers and appreciate the beauty of nature
Say hello to strangers and enjoy the people you know
Don't be afraid to show your emotions laughing and crying make you feel better
Love your friends and family with your entire being they are the most important part of your life
Feel the calmness on a quiet sunny day
Find a rainbow and live your world of dreams always remember life is better than it seems.

When most I wink, then do mine eyes best see,
For all the day they view things unrespected,
But when I sleep, in dreams they look on thee,
And darkly bright, are bright in dark directed.
Then thou, whose shadow shadows doth make bright,
How would thy shadow's form form happy show
To the clear day with thy much clearer light,
When to unseeing eyes thy shade shines so!
How would, I say, mine eyes be blessed made,
By looking on thee in the living day,
When in dead night thy fair imperfect shade
Through heavy sleep on sightless eyes doth stay!
All days are nights to see till I see thee,
And nights bright days when dreams do show thee me.
